Primary Purpose

The Price and Cost Operations Specialist is a vital role for Univar Solutions, supporting Product Management and Sales by managing accurate implementation of customer specific pricing records and supplier cost contracts. This position owns ensuring precise and timely customer specific pricing records through reviewing and compiling data, as well as executing market and value driven price changes. With regards to supplier cost contracts, this role owns the accuracy of cost contracts (vendor cost, vendor payment terms, incoterms, accessorial charges) within the system by analyzing supplier records, reviewing purchase order discrepancies, and collaborating with Product Managers. Both components of this position are instrumental to maximizing profitability of Univar Solutions through accurate customer invoicing and vendor payments.

What you will do
  • Review, analyze and interpret supplier communications to determine impact to Univar Solutions products and existing prices, and if changes need to be made and communicated to Sales team
  • Analyze vendor invoices and identify any discrepancies;
  • Investigate root cause and advise product management and purchasing on steps needed to correct
  • Review current pricing data to identify potential improvements and cost-savings opportunities;
  • Escalate opportunities to leadership to be reviewed with the business
  • Identify impacted products for any price changes and update system accordingly
  • Implement price changes into system as identified and approved, and communicate impact to sales team
  • Perform regular reviews/audits on Customer and vendor accounts to ensure data integrity
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested
What you will need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Purchasing, Accounting or Customer Solutions (distribution environment desired)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, organize and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Proven success in problem solving with cross-functional teams and various departments
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written to communicate with US business
