A precision engineering company in Querétaro, Mexico is seeking a Metrologist to perform dimensional measurements and programming of CMM and Profilometer. The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree with 2-3 years of experience in CMM programming and advanced English skills. This on-site role includes maintaining measurement equipment and preparing reports compliant with IATF:16949 standards.

Formación

  • 2-3 years of experience in CMM Programming Software PC-Dmis and as a metrologist.
  • Experience in the use of measuring equipment like optical comparator, vernier, micrometer.
  • Hands-on experience in basic GD&T interpretation.
  • Knowledge of measuring ropes and threads in components.
  • Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of measuring equipment.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform CMM and Profilometer Programming.
  • Prepare dimensional reports according to user requirements.
  • Participate in measurement method analysis (MSA).
  • Maintain measurement equipment in optimal condition.
  • Provide support in repairing measurement equipment.

Role Overview

Execute dimensional measurements according to geometric and dimensional specifications and tolerances, embodied in drawings or engineering documents, in compliance with IATF:16949 requirements, to products manufactured or purchased by IMI Precision Engineering.

Work Environment

This role is based in Queretaro, Mexico, On site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CMM and Profilometer Programming.
  • Perform specific, partial or complete dimensional measurements, as well as Cpk studies.
  • Prepare dimensional reports according to the format required by users.
  • Participate in the determination of measurement method analysis (MSA).
  • To keep the measurement equipment of the metrology laboratory in optimal condition of use.
  • Perform MSA studies when required.
  • Perform calibrations of plant measurement equipment according to the scope of the company.
  • Provide support in revision/repair of plant measurement equipment such as: Flushometers, vernier, scales, torque meters, among others used in production areas.
Critical Competencies for Success

Education and Experience:

  1. Required schooling: Engineering degree
  2. 2-3 Years of experience in CMM Programming Software PC-Dmis and as a metrologist
  3. English, advance
  4. Experience in the use of measuring equipment: optical comparator, vernier, micrometer, etc.
  5. Hands-on experience in basic GD&T interpretation
  6. Knowledge of measuring ropes and threads in components
  7. Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of measuring equipment.
