Supplier Readiness Engines Design Engineering has an opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer I. This position primarily focuses on developing and validating Code 3 Models based on 2D drawings from legacy programs. It also supports C2HO initiatives, aiming to identify second sources of suppliers, improve delivery times, and enhance part quality. The support scope includes Engines, Power Systems, Mechanical Air, and Thermal value streams.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of aerospace products, manufacturing processes, and CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks, used for modifying or creating 3D models and drawings. Knowledge of GD&T and aerospace drawing interpretation is essential, along with the ability to perform stack-up analysis. The role involves using advanced software tools and supporting Technical Improvement Teams to capture product design intent and adhere to best practices and guidelines.
