Job Overview
Applymethods, best practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, diagnostics and repair, of buildings, utilities, equipment and machinery, this position Requires experience in machining equipment.
Responsible for the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of the facility and all equipment and systems within it, with the exception of any computer, computer system, phone line, or phone system.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all aspects of the Preventive Maintenance Program are consistently accomplished through hands on observation and diligent record keeping.
- Maintain all required records per our Quality System and other policies.
- Support all teams in their efforts to efficiently perform their duties and to continually improve their processes.
- Quickly respond to equipment malfunctions, failures, or other similar problems with the emphasis being getting the item back online as quickly as possible. In the event the item cannot be immediately brought back online, the Maintenance Lead is required to negotiate a date, based on current priorities and availability of materials, with the area Supervisor and update him/her on a consistent basis.
- When required, work with outside contractors or service providers ensuring high quality service at a value-based cost. All outside contract purchases must be approved by the General Manager prior to entering into any agreements.
- Support the Safety Team in preventing and correcting safety issues.
- Direct and support other Maintenance Team members.
- Continually strive to improve the efficiency of the maintenance team.
- Support Manufacturing Manager in achieving short- and long-term vision and goals.
- Be the main focal point for questions from team members.
- Will perform most of the hands on or OJT training for the team.
- Work side by side with team members as much as possible.
- All duties as assigned by the Supervisor and or other members of the management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or similar.
- Experience: at least 5 years related experience on maintenance leadership.
- Experience in machining equipment.
- English Proficient (+80% written and oral skills)
- Must have high level of experience in most or all tasks required in maintaining and repairing small and large manufacturing equipment.
- Must have good working knowledge of mechanical systems and their repair.
- Must be familiar with basic single and multi-phase electrical systems. It is not required that this position be a certified electrician as most electrical work will be sub-contracted.
- Must be familiar with basic hydraulic systems and their repair.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability utilizing good judgment in determining the appropriate guideline, procedure, and application to utilize in solving problems.
Thorough understanding of process flows, lead times and lean principles in a mfg. environment.
