Junior BOM & Supplier Transfer Engineer - Medical Devices (Remote in México)

Your role
As a Junior Supplier Transfer Engineer, you will support our medical device engineering team in managing supplier transitions and component changes. Under guidance from senior team members, you will assist in verification activities, documentation management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth supplier transfers while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance. In this role you will play a key role in:
- Supplier Transfer Support: Assist in developing qualification plans for supplier transfer projects. Support verification testing of components from new suppliers. Help coordinate First Article Inspections (FAIRs) for transferred items. Learn to assess the impact of supplier changes on product performance and safety.
- Engineering Change Management: Support the preparation and processing of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Help compile design packages including drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Assist in documenting design changes required for alternate supplier components. Learn to track engineering changes through approval and implementation phases.
- Technical Communication: Interact with suppliers to gather information and clarify technical requirements. Communicate with internal engineering teams to understand component specifications. Document technical findings and test results in clear, concise reports. Support technical discussions between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with medical device regulations. Coordinate with modality engineers to understand the scope and impact of supplier transfers. Support procurement teams with technical information for supplier selection. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on transfer activities.
Your profile
- Good conversational English skills (B2, C1, C2)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with interest in medical device development.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles with the ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) concepts in regulated industries, particularly medical devices.
- Good written and verbal communication abilities with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Willingness to work in cross-functional teams and learn from experienced engineers and quality professionals.
- Enthusiasm for developing knowledge in supplier qualification, engineering change management, and medical device regulations.
