The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and expertise in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing. The Engineering Manager Primary focus is to achieve production and customer commit plans, while maintaining manufacturing world class practices related to safety standards, process

and product quality controls, customer requirements and on time delivery. The Engineering Manager is responsible for talent development, continuous improvement and budget attainment of the production department.

Main responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Engineering, Test and Electrical Engineering, New Product Introduction and Transitions, Maintenance and Automation and Engineering Project Management
  • Ensures safety elements are deployed into manufacturing processes including JSA, Equipment Risk Assessment.
  • Manufacturing documents deployment and controls, such as work instructions, process deviations
  • Coordinate and deploy engineering change management effectively.
  • Exercise diligent Management of Change on new process and equipment introduction (including layout and plant footprint changes due to manufacturing process needs)
  • Responsible for new process and product qualification process (liaison with group engineering and quality departments)
  • Determining and implementing world class quality control mindset and standards (Control Plan, FMEA, Error proofing)
  • Drives continuous improvement on Yield, RTY, Scrap, Downtime and OEE, through lean methodologies (Kaizen, root cause analysis) and management (trend, pareto, actions)
  • Ensure engineering adherence on established operating system and standard work for process enablers such as Tier meetings, RCCP, S&OP, Quality and Operational reviews, financial and cost reviews
  • Ensure production equipment is managed, controlled through or Preventive Maintenance system (Fixx) ensuring preventive maintenance routines are in place, as well as proper controls for spare parts
  • Partners with human resources area to manage IDL/DL manpower based on demand, training needs and improvements implemented.
What You Will Do:
  • Establish the physical layout of machinery and the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.
  • Plans the sequence of operations and procedures and documents manufacturing standard work and routings.
  • Plans the allocation of resources, materials and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • May assist facilities engineers (planning and design of facilities) and materials logistics (packaging design).
Must have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree in Engineering and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
  • Relevant experience leading a Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing process
  • Strong project planning, communication skills and resource management skills
  • Ability to work across the organization and various disciplines including Engineering, Operations, Program Office, and Business Development
  • Experience running multiple complex projects and integrated cross functional teams.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
