SUMMARY:The Electronic Manufacturing Engineer supports the manufacturing process by focusing on the assembly, testing, validation, introduction, evaluation, troubleshooting, regulatory assessment, and assembly process design for electronic products. This role involves coordinating with R&D, business units, marketing organizations, and customers to ensure product-related initiatives meet customer needs sustainably.
Responsibilities
- A – Receive, evaluate, collaborate, implement, communicate, and manage engineering changes with multiple departments, suppliers, and sites of Mettler Toledo.
- B – Support manufacturing by performing assembly evaluations, creating process/product documentation, conducting product testing and validation, troubleshooting processes, and designing/developing processes for manufacturability of electronic components.
- C – Train personnel on electronic products and processes as needed for quality control, assembly, engineering changes, and testing.
- D - Design, develop, and implement testing methods specific to electronic components in the engineering lab and production floor.
- E – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, sales, R&D, quality, manufacturing engineering, outside suppliers, and production, as needed for electronic product change and development.
- F – Support the supply chain on sourcing raw materials, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), and services to evaluate electronic products, train suppliers, perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) qualifications, update product specifications through engineering changes, evaluate change requests, and resolve material issues.
- G – Perform risk assessments for quality notifications (QNs), engineering changes, and process improvements/changes specific to electronic manufacturing.
- H – Support the quality department in PPAP evaluation, change assessment, risk assessments, critical characteristics, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for electronic products.
- I – Support and perform improvements for Lean and continuous improvement Initiatives within electronic manufacturing processes.
- J – Monitor, report, and manage product performance of electronic components.
- K – Take an active role in new electronic product and transfer projects by creating plans, assisting in the creation of timelines and budgets, ensuring process integrity, performing engineering activities, and communicating/reporting as needed.
- L – Travel for work duties, accounted for 10 to 30%.
Education and/or Experience
- Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in the medical or electronics industry required.
- Experience with CAD software, PLM software, EDA software, and circuit simulation software is desirable.
- Experience of PCBA debugging/repair or electronic test or EMC test will be a PLUS.
- Advanced English level: C and above.
- US Visa required for work travel.
