A leading electronics manufacturer in Tijuana is seeking a Process Optimization Engineer to lead improvement initiatives across production processes. This role involves identifying bottlenecks, managing projects, and collaborating with various departments to enhance efficiency. Candidates should possess at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Formación

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or process improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with ergonomic methodologies (REBA, RULA, QEC).

Descripción del empleo

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and problem-solving methodologies to optimize production processes, improve throughput and reduce waste.

Process Optimization

Identify bottlenecks, propose improvements and implement standardized work methods to ensure safety, quality and productivity.

Ergonomic & Safety Evaluations

Conduct ergonomic assessments (REBA, RULA, QEC, etc.) and support EHS initiatives to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Project Management

Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensure timely execution of action plans, maintain documentation and track progress against objectives.

Work Instructions & Documentation

Create, update and improve work instructions, SOPs, process flowcharts, control plans and visual aids for production.

Collaboration with Departments

Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Production and Engineering teams to solve issues, support new product introductions and ensure smooth operations.

Support for Automation & Layout

Evaluate workstation layout, material flow and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and operator performance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, process improvement or related areas.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, VSM
  • Six Sigma tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise operational teams, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance and providing feedback.
  • Experience with time studies, method analysis and process mapping
  • Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and data analysis
  • Familiarity with ergonomic methodologies (REBA, RULA, QEC)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Proactive, organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience in NPI or line transfers.
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing
  • English (Spoken and written)
