A leading agriculture commodity trading firm in Mexico City is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support their Grains & Oilseeds segment. Responsibilities include financial analysis, preparing reports, and reconciling trading P&L. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong time management skills, and fluency in both English and Spanish. This role demands a hands-on approach in a dynamic environment.

Job Description: This role will be based in the Mexico City office of COFCO International and will be responsible for supporting the agriculture commodity trading and distribution business as we continue to grow our Grains & Oilseeds segment in North America. The chosen individual will work side by side with the business to track and analyze actual business performance compared to commercial forecasts while working to maintain and improve business controls. This role will be extremely “hands-on” managing multiple time sensitive tasks with overlapping deadlines requiring a detail-oriented focus to continuously deliver high quality results.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly analysis of the Managerial financial statements for the Mexico G&O Distribution Business Unit.
  • Prepare Monthly Executive Summary Report outlining the performance of the Mexico G&O Distribution Business Unit (Volumes, Gross Margin, and Direct SG&A) including collection of business commentary from the local Commercial Team.
  • Reconcile monthend (WD1) Daily Trading P&L to Accounting / Financial P&L
  • Reconcile Futures Brokerage Statements daily and end of month
  • Prepare Daily PnL and Position Reports
  • Coordinate with Commercial and Operations teams to reconcile Position (Book) Inventory to Third-Party Warehouse Inventory Statements monthly and report results to Global Operational Risk Team.
  • Reconcile end of month inter-company AR/AP
  • Coordinate the collection of Internal and External Audit requests with applicable Functional areas.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to strengthen internal controls and gain operating efficiencies.
  • Coordínate the preparation of anual Budget and monthly Forecasts working in close collaboration with the US G&O Business Controlling Team.
  • Participate / Lead special projects on ad hoc basis.

Education Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA and/or Professional Designation a plus
Work Experience Requirements
  • +5 years of relevant work experience in Agribusiness, Food Industry, Supply-Chain or Trading/Commodities
  • Hands-on Finance background
