As Automation & Maintenance Manager on our team, I am responsible for ensuring the reliability and operational efficiency of all machinery, equipment, and automated systems in the facility. This role combines leadership in maintenance programs (e.g., PM, TPM) with the strategic implementation and upkeep of automation technologies to meet production goals, improve efficiency, and ensure safety.
In your daily job you will :
Maximize the efficiency and operational availability of all manufacturing assets, including SMT equipment, robotic welding, assembly lines, and facility infrastructure.
Oversee and implement maintenance and reliability systems such as Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and corrective action plans to reduce downtime (MTTR, MTBF).
Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and programming support for PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, industrial communication networks, and robotic systems.
Lead the design, installation, buy‑off, and start‑up of new equipment and automation projects, ensuring alignment with production needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor maintenance teams and engineers. Establish clear job expectations and performance evaluations.
Enforce OSHA standards, implement Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and promote a strong safety culture to ensure a zero‑incident work environment.
Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, monitor spare parts inventory, and manage vendor relationships and contracts for external services.
Utilize SAP / ERP or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planning, tracking, and reporting on maintenance activities and key performance indicators (KPIs) like OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
3-5 years of experience in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing environment, specifically leading technical staff in the repair of automation or robotics systems.
English level advanced (must)Hands‑on expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, strong understanding of control systems, and experience with Industry 4.0 concepts.
