A technology firm in Mexico is looking for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to plan and design automation solutions. You will develop improvements to existing manufacturing processes and manage equipment purchases. The role requires strong project management skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices. Ideal candidates have experience in programming, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Availability to travel is essential, along with a valid USA Visa and Mexican passport.

Formación

Descripción del empleo

This individual will plan and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes. Requires strong experience managing and coordinating manufacturing technology transfer experience, in addition, requires experience in the Lean production principles and tools; capable of analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force to maximize efficiency; and improving production design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment.
  • Manage equipment purchase and installation.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation.
  • Coordinate projects.
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support.
  • Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing.
  • Lead and direct meetings with other team members and hourly associates.
  • Manage tooling and gauge design and drawings.
  • Provide training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.
  • Meet and drive equipment OEE and uptime.
  • In collaboration with Process Engineering drive RTY, FPY and scrap metric health and improvements.

Horario: 12:00 am - 6:00 am

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing Automation Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Tool and fixture design and GD&T.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
  • Machine specification and purchase order writing.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
  • Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards.
  • Autocad / Solidworks / MS Office suite.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and speaking).
