Job Summary:

Develops, maintains, and enhances business applications. Collaborates with stakeholders to validate user requirements, assess available technologies, and recommend solution options. Assesses objectives for assigned project phases and recommends technical strategies and tactics to achieve business needs.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Uses process design technology methodologies, programming languages and tools and solutions design techniques to develop applications to meet business specifications.
• Validates functional specifications, builds technical specifications and develops application documentation.
• Performs analysis, design, development and testing of applications to solve business requirements.
• Integrates new or enhanced application components.
• Develops conversion and system implementation plans.
• Supports change readiness initiatives as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Lead Software Developer to help drive the technical direction of our internal development team. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys both building solutions and enabling others to do the same. You’ll guide development across automation platforms like UiPath, document processing tools like ABBYY FlexiCapture, and custom internal applications built with Python and SQL.

As our first lead developer, you’ll help shape engineering standards, mentor teammates, and bring clarity to complex technical problems across a wide range of projects—everything from robotic process automation to internal web tools and backend data workflows.

What You’ll Do

• Provide technical leadership across projects involving UiPath, ABBYY Flexicapture, Python, and SQL.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable solutions for automation, data movement, and business process improvement.
• Partner with business analyst and stakeholders to translate requirements into practical and effective implementations.
• Take ownership of project delivery—helping define timelines, track progress, and ensure solutions are delivered on time, with quality and alignment to business goals.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to skill-building within the team.
• Define and promote development best practices, including source control, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Help establish architectural direction and technical strategy for our automation and app development initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across our tech stack.

What to Bring

• 5+ years of experience in software development or automation engineering, including:
  • Strong proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and application logic.
  • Solid experience writing SQL for data manipulation and querying.
  • Hands‑on experience with UiPath, including orchestrator configuration and bot development.
  • Familiarity with ABBYY FlexiCapture (template creation, rules, exports, etc.).
• Ability to work across the full lifecycle of a solution: design, develop, test, deploy, and support.
• Comfort working in a hybrid technical environment that spans custom code, RPA platforms, and document understanding tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when translating business needs into technical solutions.
• A passion for automation, process improvement, and helping others grow.

Bonus Points

• Experience building internal tools or APIs used by business teams.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Databricks, SAP, ServiceNow, or Salesforce.
• Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD, or agile delivery practices.
• Previous experience as a technical lead or team mentor.
