Primary Function
Molecular Account Executive is responsible for managing and expanding molecular activities for assigned customers in the defined country territory. The role includes acting as an advisor/consultant to customers. Account Manager is responsible for retention and value expansion with assigned Abbott existing accounts and new possible accounts.
- New business acquisition
- Renewals of expiring contracts or new tender issued by existing customers, ensuring price negotiations give customers the right prices
- Establish value propositions and build business cases
- Post‑sale involvement with customers
- Develop broad relationships with key molecular lab stakeholders, including decision‑making units such as clinicians and purchasing departments
- Serve customers’ requests and forward them to the Service department on technical and application questions
- Become an advisor/consultant to customers on lab productivity, use, and design
- Work actively in CRM system to keep customer data up to date, report activities and market data
- Serve as single point of contact that responds to customers promptly
- Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent
- Experience from IVD laboratory diagnostics business
- Experience from sales preferred but not mandatory if having strong experience from the molecular diagnostic field
- Experience in the molecular laboratory field mandatory
- Strong experience maintaining and developing customer relationships
- Native in local language/English & other languages advantageous
- Account Manager requires regular average 70% travel activity
