Job summary
A leading engineering company in Italy seeks a professional to define and implement tooling and tests for electronics products. The role involves evaluating tooling costs, ensuring tool availability, and overseeing the implementation process. Candidates should hold a technical education in electronics or automation, and possess at least five years of experience in a production environment, particularly in the railway industry. Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of quality, EHS standards and ergonomics.

- Define and implement routine tests per Engineering requirements.
- Evaluate total costs for tooling, including studies.
- Validate design through reviews and inspections.

- To define and implement routine tests according to Engineering requirements for electronics products
- To define specific tools, ensure their manufacturing and implementation in Operations
- Act in respect of standards, AT rules and business targets (EHS, Ergonomics, QCD)
- Perform tooling costing and its lifecycle maintenance costs
- Ensure the tool availability for the operations
- Identify the need for tooling with the Industrialisation team
- Evaluate the total cost of the tooling, including studies (specification, design)
- Analyze the tooling requested and propose the adequate solution
- Elaborate the specification of requirements for the industrial means and tools necessary to implement the execution activities, in particular relating to infrastructure, tools and capex
- Design tools or subcontract them
- Send documented purchase request, participate in RFQ analysis, and contribute to the business award with Sourcing
- Validate the design through design reviews, involving the above actors
- Validate the operations tooling during First Article Inspection
- Follow‑up implementation of the tooling and first use
- Ensure tools are available to perform the activities “on time” in a safe environment
- Build CAPEX ROI when needed
- Perform operating procedure when needed to use it
- Specify inspection operations, handling and maintenance instruction
- Write periodic inspection sheets
- Manage calibration review
- Technical education: electronics, automation
- Experience of working in a Service Site or Production environment
- Knowledge and understanding of our customers
- Languages: Country language
- Manufacturing or maintenance background with 5 years’ experience preferably in the railway industry
- Technical experience of process & manufacturing engineering
- Good practice of LabVIEW, C++ and schematic drawings
- Working knowledge in quality, EHS standards and ergonomics
