Overview

Safe Fleet, a leader in the truck equipment manufacturing industry, is looking for a Fabricator/Welder to work as part of a team fabricating, installing and repairing Automated Tarp Systems. This full-time position is responsible for on premises tarp system fabricating, repair and installation for the trucking industry. The qualified candidate must be a high energy, physical individual with experience working on triaxle truck bodies and semi-trailers in a fast paced, labor intensive environment. The individual will be motivated by a competitive industry and be results-, detail- and team-oriented.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricates steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blueprints.
  • Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters to cut, grind, and adjust material.
  • Sets up and operates gas welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts and verbal instructions.
  • Regulates flow of gases for proper mixture.
  • Cleans parts to remove contamination prior to welding.
  • Set up and operates all phases of brazing applications using clamps, fixtures and torches working to specified tolerances.
  • Selects proper flux.
  • Sets up and operates stick welding machines to repair, join or fabricate parts working with blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Read a tape measure, use hand tools and semi automatic manufacturing equipment.
