A leading pharmaceutical company in Italy is seeking a Program Manager to lead the development and industrialization of product components. The role requires 8+ years in regulated industries, with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. We are looking for a Program Manager to join our DDS R&D Program Management team, with openings in both our Milan and Piombino Dese (PD) offices.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the development, industrialization, and scale-up of the Device component of a Combination Product. You will drive cross-functional programs, coordinate multiple project teams, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, progress, and overall program success.
1. Program Planning, Execution & Delivery
The Program Manager defines the program scope, priorities, and key deliverables, translating business needs into a clear roadmap. They coordinate multiple project teams, develop detailed plans, and oversee execution to ensure that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role provides technical guidance as needed and ensures that approval processes, interdependencies, and project activities are managed coherently.
2. Stakeholder, Communication & Relationship Management
They act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and ensuring alignment across functions. The Program Manager communicates progress, risks, and decisions to all relevant parties, promoting effective information flow and translating complex topics into clear, actionable insights.
3. Risk, Issue & Contingency Management
The Program Manager proactively identifies emerging risks and issues, maintaining a structured risk register and coordinating mitigation actions. They ensure timely problem resolution and implement contingency plans to protect program objectives and performance.
4. Budget, Resource & Performance Management
They manage program budgets, monitor costs, and work closely with Finance and Procurement to ensure effective budget planning and reporting. The Program Manager optimizes resource allocation, tracks overall program performance, maintains dashboards and documentation, and leads lessons‑learned activities at program close.
