Overview

Medical Affairs Manager (M/F) - Neurosciences at Johnson & Johnson. Location: Milano, Italy. This is a permanent contract based in the Milan office.

You will report to the Therapeutic Area Medical Head (TAMH) and provide medical support to the Neuroscience & Rare Disease franchise, with a focus on autoimmune neurological diseases (including myasthenia gravis), neurodegenerative diseases, mood disorders, and other nervous system disorders. The role aims to improve product value by acting as a therapeutic area scientific expert and trusted scientific partner with Leading Specialists, pharmacists, hospital managers, board members of scientific societies, and other stakeholders. You will also support collaboration between the Local Operating Company Medical Affairs Team and the Regional (EMEA) Medical Affairs Team, and you will develop and execute the Medical Affairs Product Plan (MAP Plan) aligned with EMEA MA and CVT strategies, in close cooperation with other functions. You will support current and future launches within neurology and within our NS portfolio, both internal and external.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical expertise in neurological disorders and treatments to other Operating Company functions.
  • Act as an active member of the EMEA MA Functional Network to identify data gaps and strategies to address them.
  • External Relationships: build and maintain networks with Leading Specialists and other relevant stakeholders; maximize interactions with Investigators, Leading Specialists, and patient groups to gain inputs for product strategy and therapy placement.
  • Study Planning and Execution: plan and supervise local clinical research activities (interventional/observational), including evaluation of feasibility and coherence with CVT strategy, oversight of protocol development and study implementation, ensuring accurate and timely communication of clinical results, and evaluating IIS proposals for scientific soundness and alignment to medical strategy.
  • Serve as the local MAF referee for local GCO in EMEA/Global clinical research activities conducted in the country.
  • Publications: develop and implement the local MA publication plan with budget and vendor management; ensure content related to allocated products reflects scientific data in medical education, abstracts, medical information, and marketing materials.
  • Medical Education: develop and validate the Medical Education Plan by gathering inputs from top-tier Specialists and the Steering Committee (MESC); maintain fair and collaborative relationships with major CME Providers.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical degree or other scientific degrees.
  • 3+ years in similar roles, ideally in neurosciences.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Essentials knowledge & skills
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with clinical trial design (interventional and non-interventional, RWE), execution, data analysis, and patient access programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of autoimmune neurological disorders and of all products within the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and medical education (CME) regulations.
  • Highly stakeholder-focused and results-oriented; innovative with the ability to coordinate and drive in a dynamic, matrix environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multi-cultural teams; strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex material for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrates values and behaviors consistent with The Johnson & Johnson Credo and integrity.
