DESCRIPTION

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Area Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of expert technicians dedicated to ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

• Support site compliance with safety policies and procedures
• Implement EU network standards, plan preventative maintenance, and ensure technical availability
• Collaborate to collect and analyze data to improve processes
• Lead and support site-based and network-level projects
• Develop your team’s skills and careers through mentorship and training

A day in the life

You’ll be based at an operational site, providing practical guidance, collecting data, and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. You will create operational plans to enhance site productivity and efficiency, initiate projects to improve processes and maintenance, and manage your team’s performance and development, including organizing additional training.

About the team

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) handles last-mile delivery in partnership with third-party providers. We focus on operational excellence, supporting ‘under the roof’ associates processing products and ‘on the road’ delivery contractors via Amazon Flex. Our goal is to improve customer delivery experiences, innovate with new services like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants, and reduce our environmental footprint with sustainable vehicles and technology.

Our team is committed to supporting our people, especially those working overnight shifts, and continuously improving our logistics and delivery processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or production environment with complex processes
• Experience managing engineering teams
• Ability to liaise with and manage relationships with stakeholders, including third-party vendors
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and intermediate proficiency in the local language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTEC National Diploma (OND), IEng, CEng, or ILM L4+
• Experience with statutory regulations, compliance checks, and machine safety protocols
• Experience with automated equipment, packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems
• Knowledge of data analysis tools and PLC control systems
• Experience with project management, Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
