A leading food ingredients company is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to drive growth in European markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in the food industry, with at least 10 years of B2B sales experience. Responsibilities include developing effective sales strategies, managing a high-performing team, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Fluency in English and Italian is essential, with additional European languages as a plus. This is a full-time onsite role based in Verona, Italy.

This is a Business‑to‑Business (B2B) role; candidates from FMCG, hospitality, hotel or restaurant sectors are not considered.

Geiger Food Ingredients Recruitment & Consultation (GFIC) is an international food ingredients company with a global network of plants, sales offices and R&D centres.

Role: Director of Sales & Marketing – responsible for developing and directing all sales, marketing and business development activities in Europe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a sales and marketing plan to achieve set growth targets.
  • Develop and manage an effective sales and distributor team.
  • Lead business development activities across European markets.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Successful track record of building and growing sales and profitability in a food ingredient business (e.g., flavours, colours, extracts, powders).
  • Experience closing sales and satisfying customers at senior levels including Directors, VPs and owners/executives.
  • Highly self‑motivated; able to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong fit with the company’s culture and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sciences or food technology/ingredients, and/or MBA.
  • Fluent in English and Italian; knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a B2B sales environment within the food industry.
