Director – Strategy & Corporate Development | Remote – Based in Italy | Reports To: Managing Director

Company: Global Leading Automotive Company

About the Role: Our client, a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director to join its Strategy and Corporate Development team within the Mobility Sector, with a primary focus on the European Market. This strategic role will shape and steer corporate growth through rigorous planning, market analysis, and execution of high-impact initiatives across the EMEA region. As a key individual contributor, you will independently lead cross-functional projects that define the medium- to long-term business direction, collaborating with strategic business units and senior leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional coming from a top-tier consulting firm with deep expertise in the automotive domain.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of corporate strategic plans that support long-term growth. Manage annual and quarterly strategic planning cycles in collaboration with business units. Conduct deep market analysis to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate and lead new business initiatives, including M&A and partnerships. Align business strategy with corporate vision through active collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business opportunities to support expansion. Collaborate with M&A and Business teams during due diligence and post-deal integration. Contribute to deal structuring and negotiation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Create detailed financial models and investment proposals. Conduct financial analyses to support strategic initiatives. Monitor and report performance metrics tied to corporate development projects.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across internal functions and external entities. Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and strategic meetings. Secure alignment and buy-in from key decision-makers across the organization.
  • Lead and execute strategic projects independently. Operate effectively across geographies and departments with minimal supervision. Foster collaboration across Strategy, Corporate Development, and business units.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in strategy consulting and corporate development, with recent experience in top-tier consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc.).
  • Proven experience leading strategic projects in the automotive or mobility sector.
  • Strong background in business development, corporate strategy, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a high-performing individual contributor in a matrixed, global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive distribution, mobility services, or adjacent sectors.
  • Familiarity with both mature and emerging markets, especially within the EU.
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills.
  • Advanced degree in business, engineering, economics, or related fields (MBA preferred).
