About The Role

This role is responsible to manage the procurement contract life cycle from onboarding suppliers, facilitating tenders, negotiating supply and service agreements, requesting approval to award expenditure, arranging the signing of supply agreements, maintaining the registration and filing of contract copies and monitoring for existing agreement expiry dates.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify opportunities to extract value through leveraging Thiess’ global operational requirements
  • Prepare business case, and related documentation, for endorsement of recommended strategy
  • Facilitate the tender preparation and implementation process across all internal functional groups to ensure timely approvals and schedule is achieved as per the annual contracting plan
  • Play the lead role in negotiations with short-listed bidders, in accordance with the approved negotiation plan, to ensure that maximum commercial value is extracted for Thiess without compromising legal non-negotiables system
  • Manage all actual or potential dispute issues in consultation with supply chain management
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Law, Applied Science, or another relevant field
  • Experience in procurement, source-to-contract processes, contract negotiation/management in mining and /or construction disciplines
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of the JD Edwards system
