Qualifications

Australian Intercultural School is hiring teachers for the AY 2025-2026.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Math Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. As a Primary Math Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate math lessons that build strong foundational skills and promote critical thinking. This position involves working with students across primary grade levels, helping them develop confidence in numeracy, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude toward mathematics in everyday life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality math lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Integrate real-life examples and hands‑on activities to make math relevant and enjoyable.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, curiosity, and a growth mindset in mathematics.
Requirements
  • A graduate from a reputable university with a minimum Bachelor Degree Mathematic or a Bachelor Degree in Education major in Mathematic.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching Combined Mathematic to students in the Primary preferably in an International School setting, or in a school where English is the mode of instruction.
  • Good English communication skills and writing skills.
  • Familiar with international curriculum (Cambridge, IB, Australian syllabus) is an advantage.
Other Qualifications
  • Possesses strong classroom management skills with a high degree of responsibility towards teaching as well as students' academic progress.
  • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural educational environment.
  • Familiar with the inquiry-based teaching and learning process and capable of using various teaching strategies and approaches.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft products, applications and services and is able to use technology efficiently for educational purposes.
