Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Pre-Sales Senior Engineer or Principal Consultant to drive technical sales engagement and deliver innovative data analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions. This role is central to shaping the technical narrative during the sales cycle, working at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and customer success.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data platforms and analytics with strong communication skills and a consultative mindset. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while collaborating closely with sales, product, and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end technical pre-sales activities, guiding prospects from initial discovery through solution design, proof‑of‑concept (POC), and final proposal delivery.

Collaborate with sales teams to understand client challenges and translate business needs into scalable, data‑driven solutions.

Design and deliver compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops that articulate the value of Paques’ solutions in data processing, analytics, AI, and machine learning.

Author high‑quality technical responses to RFIs, RFPs, and other procurement documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and competitive positioning.

Develop, customize, and maintain sales enablement assets including solution decks, use case libraries, competitive battle cards, and demo environments.

Architect, implement, and present Proof of Concepts (POCs) tailored to client‑specific requirements, showcasing measurable business impact.

Build and sustain strong relationships with key technical and executive stakeholders across client organizations and partner ecosystems.

Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies—especially in data engineering, cloud platforms, ETL/ELT, real‑time analytics, and AI/ML—to advise clients and inform product strategy.

Serve as a knowledge hub internally, sharing market insights, competitive intelligence, and technical best practices across teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT Architecture, Business Analytics, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical pre‑sales, solution engineering, or consulting roles within data, analytics, or AI‑focused environments.

Proven ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; experience drafting technical proposals and RFP responses.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual thinking abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Demonstrated success in stakeholder management, influencing without authority, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Self‑motivated with a results‑driven, “can‑do” attitude and the agility to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Exceptional time and task management skills when juggling multiple opportunities and deadlines.

Preferred Technical Competencies

Proficiency in data query and programming languages: SQL, Python (including pandas, NumPy), and experience with statistical programming (R) or machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow).

Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration pipelines (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica, or similar).

Familiarity with relational and non‑relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or cloud‑based data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

Working knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting and command‑line environments.

Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles.

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
