Job summary

A leading technology services firm in Batam is seeking a Payroll Officer to manage payroll activities. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate processing of monthly attendance, maintaining payroll data confidentiality, and compliance with legal requirements. The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and possess 1–2 years of payroll experience along with proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are a must.

Job description

The Payroll Officer supports the payroll process in preparing and processing monthly attendance and payroll. The role focuses on collecting, checking, and updating attendance and payroll data while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and statutory requirement

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in monthly payroll processing, including preparing basic data such as attendance, overtime, leave, and deductions.
  • Collect and verify attendance records, overtime approvals, and supporting documents.
  • Update and maintain employee payroll master data, including new hires, resignations, salary changes, and benefit adjustments.
  • Process BPJS registrations, updates, and terminations for employees.
  • Support the calculation of allowances, overtime, and deductions.
  • Assist in preparing payslip distribution and handling basic payroll inquiries from employees.
  • Help with PPh 21 data preparation, such as employee information and basic tax components.
  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll files and ensure confidentiality of salary information.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.
  • 1–2 years experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and BPJS requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, integrity, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and organized in work output to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
