A mining company in Indonesia is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to lead and manage maintenance activities across the site. The successful candidate will develop strategies for maintenance operations, ensure compliance with mining laws, and guide the recruitment and training of maintenance personnel. Applicants should possess a minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience, particularly within gold processing plants, along with strong leadership and organizational skills.
This role is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities across the site, ensuring that all mine equipment is maintained safely, reliably, and effectively. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Mechanical Superintendent provides strategic direction for maintenance operations and collaborates with the Management team to develop and implement the overall site strategy.
Some of your duties will include:
Work with the Management team to define the direction and mid- to long-term operational and project development objectives for the Maintenance team.
Support the Management team in establishing and implementing the overall site budget.
Provide high-level guidance, advice, and technical input to the Management team.
Develop the overall maintenance strategy by incorporating input from cross-functional teams and employees.
Establish and manage the maintenance production budget in alignment with the overall mine budget and business plan.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mining laws and safety regulations, ensuring compliance across the maintenance team.
Take a leadership role in recruitment, performance management, and development of maintenance personnel.
Ensure direct reports receive appropriate training, coaching, and development to maximize operational efficiency.
What skills and experience do you need?
Minimum Senior High School (SMA/SMK) qualification.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in maintenance-related roles, particularly within a gold processing plant, including Crushing, Grinding, Thickener, Elution, CIL tanks, and Gold Refinery equipment.
At least 5–7 years of supervisory experience in maintenance operations within mining or mineral processing environments.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
High attention to detail with excellent organizational and planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve operational and technical problems.
Ability to prepare accurate records, documentation, and technical reports.
