Lineman personnel are directly responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, repair, construction and emergency restoration of 150kV transmission line, 150kV GIS, 150kV AIS, distribution network (400V, 11kV, 33kV) both overhead and underground and substation at Power Business Unit Department.
Some of your duties will include:
Lineman personnel are directly responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, repair, and construction activities on the electrical network—from 150 kV transmission lines to 33 kV, 11 kV, and 400 V distribution systems. Their work ensures that power is transmitted and distributed safely and reliably to all users.
When faults, outages, or line trips occur, linemen are the first responders who locate and isolate the problem, carry out emergency repairs, and restore power within minimal time. This function is critical to maintaining operational continuity and minimizing downtime.
Lineman teams conduct regular patrols, inspections, and maintenance on poles, towers, insulators, conductors, and cables. Their preventive actions detect potential failures before they cause interruptions or safety incidents.
Lineman roles are essential to executing field switching, isolation, earthing, and work permits in coordination with the control room. They ensure all maintenance, repair, and construction activities are performed under safe electrical and environmental conditions, protecting both personnel and equipment.
Lineman teams act as the operational link between control room (dispatch) and field conditions, ensuring proper communication, execution, and verification of system operations such as switching, energization, or isolation.
