Position: Commercial Head/Trader – Dairy, Indonesia

Indonesia is the world’s largest dairy market with a predominant internal play. There are significant arbitrages that exist between local and international prices and at times within different regions of Indonesia itself. Our intention is to tap into both these arbitrages as and when available. Our ambition for the Dairy business in Indonesia is to participate in local supply chain operations, become a key supplier to the OFI customer base and explore deeper participation in the dairy industry both upstream or downstream. This will involve investing in upstream milk sourcing operations and/or dairy processing assets.

Key Deliverables

• Physical trading of dairy ingredients. Mapping the local market for customer wise requirements and ensure local liquidity for product
• Setting up sourcing arrangements for Dairy ingredients from local cooperatives/suppliers. Creating assured access to product
• Understanding local price dynamics for milk and commodities and helping us identify our play in the dairy complex
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions.
• Lead and manage the sales team to drive business growth and achieve sales targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Seek opportunities for participation in Export/Import
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with commodity sales and trading.
• Implement and oversee risk management strategies and procedures.

Background and key competencies

Around 10 years’ experience and background in Agri-commodity trading with experience in physical and derivative trading and supply chain management. Good understanding of risk, proactive in spotting trading opportunities and executing trades.
