Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end site operations and all critical physical infrastructure to ensure high availability, zero-incident performance, and full compliance with customer SLAs.
- Ensure consistent execution of EOP/MOP/SOP across all sites and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational discipline.
- Lead and manage 24x7 engineering and technical teams, providing direction, escalation support, and maintaining strong site readiness at all times.
- Oversee routine and emergency operations for critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, and building monitoring systems.
- Drive PUE optimization and overall efficiency improvements through structured programs and close coordination with the leadership team.
- Manage site capacity planning and ensure equipment maintenance is executed according to standards, schedules, and operational requirements.
- Lead incident management activities, including communication, on-site coordination during customer-impacting events, and driving RCA with clear action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point and ensure rapid, effective response to operational issues, including after-hours emergencies.
- Drive operational improvement initiatives, coordinating with internal and external teams to deliver projects from conception to completion.
- Support new facility designs and infrastructure enhancements to ensure alignment with operational standards and long-term reliability.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of direct experience managing a data center or multiple data centers, with a strong track record of high availability and zero-incident operations.
- Engineering background with strong MEP focus, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling infrastructure.
- Experience managing full asset lifecycle and executing replacement/refurbishment of aging DC equipment in a live environment without customer impact.
- Strong operational leadership, capable of leading 24x7 mission-critical teams (Facility Managers, Cluster Managers, Engineers, and Technicians).
- High EQ and executive presence, able to work effectively with frontline technicians, cross-functional teams, and C-level customers.
- Operational discipline and risk mindset, ensuring strict adherence to EOP/MOP/SOP and all site safety requirements.
- Ability to drive incident management, including escalation handling, root cause analysis, and preventive action plans.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead customer-facing discussions on technical, operational, and incident-related topics.
