Job description
Overview

The Field Service Team is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing field operations related to the Factory Testing and Commissioning of control and protection secondary systems, SAS and RTU systems in the power sector projects. Operating primarily within Indonesia, this professional ensures the reliability and integrity of electrical substations and power networks by championing technical excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.

How you\'ll make an impact
  • You will ensure that all members of team follow safety policies, procedures and guidelines, inculcate active fostering of safety culture at all times in site and in factory premises, consider safety as a license to work, plan and supervise project execution for factory acceptance tests and commissioning (and installation,and maintenance activities – where required) of control and protection secondary systems, SAS and RTU systems.
  • You will coordinate with project managers, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services, prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports, and records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • You will provide hands-on technical support and guidance for secondary systems including relay panels, SCADA, communication interfaces, protection schemes, and control logic, lead troubleshooting efforts for complex faults and system failures, ensuring minimal downtime, stay updated with technological advances, new standards, and best practices in secondary system protection and automation.
  • You will ensure all field activities comply with national and international standards such as IEC and PLN requirements, as well as safety and quality regulations, conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards or non-compliances.
  • You will act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders during field operations, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly, provide technical training and support to customer personnel regarding system operation and maintenance, promote the company’s field service capabilities and foster long-term business relationships.
  • You will generate detailed service reports, root cause analyses, corrective action plans after interventions, collect feedback from the team and customers to drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, safety, technology adoption, prioritize team development and align members\' goals with organizational objectives, set achievable targets and measure performance fairly, provide active feedback to team members.
  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in control and protection secondary systems, SAS and RTU systems within the power sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Solid understanding of electrical protection relays, SCADA, substation automation, and communication protocols (such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus). Proficiency in interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic drawings.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Willingness to travel extensively within Indonesia and to remote project sites as required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
