A leading offshore marine services company in Jakarta Utara is seeking a GM Operations / COO to lead fleet and offshore operations. The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of experience in senior management, particularly in shipping or logistics. Responsibilities include operational management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Fluency in English is required. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is essential. Minimum Requirements – GM Operations / COO

1. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Statistics, Maritime, or related field.

Master’s degree (MBA/Management) is a plus.

2. Experience

12–15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior management.

Strong background in shipping, offshore, oil & gas, or logistics (highly preferred).

Proven track record in managing large-scale fleet operations or offshore projects.

Candidates from related industries or other relevant business sectors are also welcome.

3. Technical Competence

Knowledge of fleet management, crewing, HSSE, technical support, docking & maintenance, procurement & logistics.

Familiar with ISM Code, IMO regulations, Flag State & Class requirements, oil & gas/KKKS standards.

Strong skills in budgeting, cost control, data analysis, contract management, and operational P&L review.

Detail-oriented, meticulous in reviewing reports, budgets, and operational execution.

Problem solver with ability to handle complex challenges calmly and effectively.

Humble leadership style, approachable, and open to feedback across all levels.

Able to think out of the box and drive the team to find the best solutions.

Strong in people management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Job Description – GM Operations / COO

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Management

Lead and oversee day-to-day fleet and offshore operations.

Ensure HSSE compliance and adherence to all international and local maritime regulations.

Supervise fleet management, crewing, technical support, docking, procurement, and logistics with high attention to detail.

2. Strategic Planning & Execution

Translate company goals into effective operational strategies.

Define and achieve operational KPIs.

Provide strategic recommendations to CEO for business growth, efficiency, and innovation.

Manage OPEX & CAPEX budgets and conduct cost variance analysis.

Apply accounting and statistical methods to evaluate efficiency and risks.

Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and cost tracking.

Build, lead, and mentor the Operations, Technical, HSSE, and Crewing teams.

Foster a culture that values discipline, safety, humility, accountability, and performance.

Act as a problem solver and coach, helping the team resolve operational and technical challenges.

5. Problem Solving & Innovation

Conduct structured problem analysis (RCA, 5-Why, statistical methods).

Think creatively and out of the box when standard approaches are insufficient.

Identify and implement the best solutions based on data, risk assessment, and long-term value.

6. Stakeholder & Client Management

Represent the company with clients, regulators, vendors, and classification societies.

Negotiate contracts and resolve disputes with professionalism and humility.

7. Governance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with ISM/IMO/Flag/Class standards and close audit findings promptly.

Deliver accurate and detailed operational and financial reports to CEO and Board.
