Job Description
- Prepare samples for customer requests, internal evaluations, and quality checks.
- Create or adapt flavour profiles to meet client specifications and support new technology initiatives.
- Review and assess raw materials for suitability in flavour creation.
- Manage daily tasks and assigned projects, ensuring compliance with manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert to resolve production challenges and customer concerns.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to strengthen technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (chemistry, sensory, regulatory, manufacturing) to expand knowledge and drive innovation.
- Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on ingredient performance.
- Contribute to research discussions and propose ideas for future projects.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Flavorist should have:
- Graduate of a recognized Flavourist program with a degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or Biology.
- 3-6 years of experience in sweet flavour development (confectionery, bakery, beverages).
- Strong sensory skills and ability to adjust formulations to meet regulatory and customer needs.
- Experience with Technology Innovation in Food or Flavours
- Strong Communication & Presentation skills, coupled with Customer-facing and Project Management experience.
- Knowledge of Analytical Methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.)
- Deep understanding of raw materials and flavour systems.
- Skilled in applying innovative technologies to enhance product development.
- Leadership experience in mentoring flavour assistants.
