A leading tech company in Jakarta Selatan is seeking an Engineering Manager to guide technical direction across large-scale software development and architecture. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, designing scalable systems, ensuring adherence to best practices, and driving architectural excellence. Ideal candidates have 7–12 years of experience with a strong focus on system architecture and engineering leadership. We are looking for an Engineering Manager with exceptional technical depth in system architecture, solution design, and large-scale software development. This role is ideal for a former Principal Engineer or Senior Tech Lead who can provide both technical leadership and people leadership while driving architectural excellence across Electrum’s digital ecosystem.
You will lead a team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers to design scalable systems, build reliable applications, and deliver high-quality engineering outputs that support our EV, battery-swapping, and mobility operations. You are expected to set engineering standards, guide architectural decisions, and ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance as the business grows.
Lead architectural direction across backend, mobile, and frontend systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Define and own system design patterns, integration architecture, and platform evolution roadmap.
Review and guide solution designs for new features, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Drive technical decision-making across engineering squads and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Lead modernization initiatives including service decoupling, domain-driven design, and cloud-native architecture.
Oversee end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring high quality and timely execution.
Provide hands-on support for complex debugging, architecture reviews, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices including code standards, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automated testing.
Implement strong reliability engineering practices (monitoring, logging, scaling, fault tolerance).
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers—driving career development, performance reviews, and skill progression.
Foster a high-performing engineering culture centered on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with Product Managers to plan roadmaps, prioritize work, and align technology with business goals.
Build hiring processes and contribute to recruitment for engineering roles at all levels.
Partner with Product, Operations, Data, and Business teams to translate needs into scalable engineering solutions.
Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure robust infrastructure and operational excellence.
Drive cross-team architectural alignment and reduce technical debt across systems.
Ensure engineering outputs meet strict reliability, performance, and cybersecurity requirements.
Oversee security reviews, compliance adherence, and data protection throughout development processes.
Establish quality metrics, code review processes, and architectural governance guidelines.
7–12 years of software engineering experience, including significant time in senior/principal-level roles.
Strong background in system architecture, distributed systems, and designing large-scale backend services.
Deep understanding of API design, microservices, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), data flows, and system integrations.
Hands-on experience with performance optimization, system debugging, and architectural decision-making.
Proven track record in leading engineering teams and driving end-to-end execution.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience balancing rapid delivery with long-term architectural health and security considerations.
Experience in mobility, logistics, IoT, EV platforms, or large operational ecosystems.
Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architecture, and scalable data pipelines.
Background in leading multi-team engineering structures or platform teams.
Experience with high-availability systems, real-time operations, or telemetry-heavy systems.
