Job Description
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians responsible for all aspects of data center mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, plumbing, fire suppression).
  • Develop and implement innovative mechanical engineering strategies to guarantee reliable, energy-efficient, and scalable data center operations.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of mechanical systems, from design and installation to commissioning and ongoing maintenance for both new and existing facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Establish and manage robust preventive maintenance programs designed to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation effectively for all mechanical engineering initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge technologies and equipment to enhance system performance and sustainability.
  • Provide expert technical guidance, training, and professional development opportunities for your engineering team.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity. Experience in data center or other critical facility environments is essential.
  • Deep understanding of HVAC systems, advanced cooling infrastructure, fire protection methodologies, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Demonstrated success in managing mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through successful commissioning.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale, mission-critical facilities.
  • Proven project management capabilities and a solid understanding of construction processes.
