Job Description
  • Develop balanced diets for cattle classes using agricultural forages, pastures, and byproducts such as palm kernel cake and silage
  • Monitor growth performance, feed intake, and body condition, adjusting to achieve ADG and FCR targets
  • Plan and oversee forage programs including pasture rotation, silage, and hay production with agronomy teams
  • Evaluate nutritional value and safe inclusion rates of byproducts while ensuring proper storage and quality
  • Work with veterinarians to maintain rumen health and prevent metabolic disorders through mineral and vitamin supplementation
  • Analyze feed tests and production data to improve ration efficiency and reduce variability
  • Optimize feed costs, forecast raw material needs, and support procurement and vendor management
  • Implement sustainability practices such as waste reduction and nutrient recycling while ensuring compliance
  • Prepare SOPs for feeding and silage processes and train farm teams for consistent execution
  • Collaborate with operations, mills, and finance to align nutrition plans with seasonal availability and budgets
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's/Master's in Animal Science, Ruminant Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or related field.
  • 3-7 years in feedlot or ruminant nutrition (formulation, bunk management, feed testing).
  • Proven experience with forage systems and byproduct inclusion (e.g., PKC, copra meal, molasses).
  • Competence in ration software (NRC, CNCPS/NDS, or similar) and Excel‑based performance tracking.
  • Strong field presence: sampling, QC, bunk calls, and practical troubleshooting.
  • Clear communication and training skills for diverse operational teams.
