Current Opportunity: Clinical Counsellor

Location: Indonesia - Remote (work from home) position

Language requirements: Fluent English and Bahasa

Shifts: Late evening (11am-8pm or 12pm-9pm)

What you will do: WorkplaceOptions is seeking a qualified Full‑time Clinical Counsellor to join our clinical team in Indonesia. Our Clinical Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email, all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for. It’s difficult to describe an average day for our counsellors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that you would help each person navigate a way forward. Responsibilities:
  • Provide single session telephonic and video counselling, in‑the‑moment support and crisis management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client‑confidentiality.
  • Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short‑term counselling.
  • Assess and manage high‑risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk.
  • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical and task‑oriented documentation in case management system.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications / Skills:
  • Counsellor with accompanying master’s degree.
  • Minimum two years post‑masters’ direct client‑contact experience or 500 hours of direct client contact hours.
  • Effectively bilingual (in Bahasa) having excellent command of English both in speech and writing.
  • Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience using short‑term counselling modalities such as Solution‑Focused, CBT, Mindfulness, Integrative, Systemic counselling.
  • Training in crisis intervention and supporting high‑risk clients beneficial.
  • Passionate about providing support to clients from anywhere in the world.
  • Sensitive to our clients' culture and flexible in using a telephone interpreter if necessary.
  • Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, situations of crisis, mental health symptoms and/or family relationship‑related concerns impacting personal or work performance.
  • Proficient in using our various contact methods – phone, video, email, text and live chat.
