Description
As the world's leading cruise line, we understand that our guests have high expectations of us, and we set high expectations for our team members. We are looking for a dedicated chef to deliver best-in-class Neapolitan-style pizza onboard our fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Delight passengers by delivering the best Neapolitan-style Pizza at Sea, from traditional Margherita and pepperoni to daily specials.
- Responsible for culinary operations in the Top-Deck pizzeria, ensuring pizzas are hand‑tossed and freshly baked on deck according to company recipes and preparation methods.
- Monitor ingredient consumption for daily pizza production, minimize food waste, and plan orders accordingly; inform the Executive Chef of fluctuations.
- Supervise the Demi Chef De Partie Pizza and Commis Chef during baking and mise‑en‑place operations, and provide required training and coaching.
- Maintain pizza recipe files and ensure they are available to assigned staff.
- Partner with the Demi Chef De Partie Pizza to manage budget and achieve cost targets in the pizzeria under the guidance of the Chief Baker and Executive Chef.
- Continuously improve production methods, culinary techniques, menu and recipe knowledge, product‐holding techniques, and presentation and delivery of pizza products.
- Observe teammates’ performance using role descriptions as a guide, identify top performers, and mentor them for career advancement.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching in production methods, baking techniques, menu and recipe knowledge, product‑holding techniques, and presentation of pizza products.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a "Pizzaiolo" in high‑volume handmade pizza production.
- Formal Pizzaiolo Certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the Neapolitan Pizza process and procedures, including dough preparation methods, baking techniques, and toppings.
- Knowledge of various pizza styles, from traditional Margherita and Pepperoni to specialty pizzas.
- Good English language skills, both verbal and written.
- Understanding of guest service foundations; ability and willingness to deliver outstanding service to guests.
- Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities.
- Personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality.
- Ability to continuously surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
