Accounting, Finance & Tax Manager (Manufacturing)
Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including AP/AR, General Ledger, and Fixed Assets.
- Japanese Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages for the Head Office in Japan.
- Cost Accounting: Manage manufacturing cost calculations (standard vs. actual) and analyze variances to improve factory efficiency.
- Tax Compliance: Lead all tax-related matters, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and Transfer Pricing documentation (TP Doc).
- Audit & Internal Control: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with J-SOX or local internal control standards.
- Treasury & Budgeting: Manage cash flow forecasting, hedging (forex), and the annual budgeting process.
- Talent Development: Mentor and upskill the local finance team, fostering a culture of "Kaizen" and proactive problem-solving.
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years in Accounting, with at least 5 years in a Managerial role within a Japanese manufacturing company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional certifications (CPA, CA, or Tax Brevet A/B/C) are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Dynamics AX).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
- Strong leadership, an eye for detail, and having a mindset of a "Can-Do" attitude with the ability to influence stakeholders and navigate the complexities of a Japanese organizational hierarchy.
