Purpose of the Job:
This role requires specialized skills gained through a blend of vocational training and significant on-the-job experience, often at a master level within skilled trades. A trade certification is typically necessary at this job level.
Key Responsibilities:
- First Article Inspections : Conducting detailed mechanical inspections of aerospace components and sub-assemblies to AS9102 standards.
- Inspection Reporting : Completing and recording First Article Inspection Reports on the MRP system.
- File Management : Developing and maintaining electronic filing systems.
- Equipment Calibration : Managing and controlling the calibration of inspection equipment.
- Continuous Improvement : Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities and providing quality performance insights.
- Supplier Liaison : Resolving issues with suppliers to enhance customer confidence and satisfaction.
- New Product Introduction : Supporting quality planning and implementation during the introduction of new products, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.
- Quality Data Analysis : Capturing and analyzing quality data, taking action against any deviations from standards.
Required Experience:
- Industry Background : Strong experience in quality and/or aerospace within medium to high-volume manufacturing.
- Technical Proficiency : Skilled in using a coordinate measuringmachine (CMM), handheld measuring tools (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometers) and interpreting engineering drawings, including geometrical tolerances.
- Continuous Improvement : Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and 5S methodologies.
- Engineering Literacy : Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering information.
- Communication Skills : Effective communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
- Teamwork & Initiative : Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- IT Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
