If so, Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated SEN Tutor to support a Year 1 pupil with high ASD needs in the Canterbury area.
This rewarding role involves providing individualised tuition for a young learner who is currently without a school placement. The student has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and you will play a key role in helping him achieve his learning and developmental goals through consistent, structured support.
- Deliver engaging, one-to-one tuition tailored to the pupil's specific needs.
- Support both academic progress and social‑emotional development.
- Implement strategies that promote communication, focus, and positive engagement.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure continuity of support.
- Keep accurate records of progress, attendance, and session feedback.
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or complex SEN needs.
- A strong understanding of EHCPs and targeted interventions.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Must hold an enhanced Child‑only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
- Driving is beneficial – the ability to travel to nearby areas is a plus.
