Academics – Acting as an agency on behalf of schools in Cardiff – is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a variety of primary and secondary schools across the Cardiff area.
This is a temporary role, with opportunities for long-term or permanent placements for the right candidate.
Job Details:
* Position: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs – SEN)
* Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas
* Type: Temporary (potential for permanent)
* Pay: £90 per day (this includes holiday pay)
* Start Date: September 2025
Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN/SEN), including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support
* Assist with personal care if required
* Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain)
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with SEN/ALN students
* Relevant training and qualifications in education or child development are desirable
