I am working with one of the UK’s most respected independent communications agencies to appoint a Social Media Director. This is a senior leadership role where you will set the vision for the agency’s social media offering and lead the development of social‑first thinking across the business. Reporting into the leadership team, you will work closely with a talented group of specialists in paid social, video, content creation and analytics.

You will be responsible for driving growth, originating and winning new business, and acting as the senior lead on high‑profile campaigns. This is an opportunity to shape and scale a growing discipline, while working with major brands and ambitious teams.

• Define and deliver a clear vision for the agency’s social media services
• Lead new business opportunities and build strong client relationships
• Act as the senior lead on major social campaigns and programmes
• Develop innovative social‑first strategies aligned to client goals
• Foster a culture of creativity and collaboration within the team
• Provide leadership and mentoring to support career growth across the department

• Significant leadership experience in a senior social media role, ideally within an agency
• Proven track record of winning and leading major social programmes
• Strong strategic mindset with the ability to link social media to business outcomes
• Excellent creative judgement and passion for social‑first ideas
• A compelling communicator who can inspire clients and teams alike
• Comfortable working across B2C, B2B and corporate briefs with varied budgets
