Overview

Teaching Assistant

Pay: Dependent upon experience and qualifications

  • TA Level 1 (SCP 2-4) £9,828 - £10,139 per annum
  • TA Level 2 (SCP 5-6) £10,299 - £10,462 per annum

Contract type: 17 ½ hours per week (mornings), term time only, temporary in the first instance for this academic year.

Broadway First School is looking to add to its highly committed Key Stage 1 team. We are seeking a friendly, dedicated and well-presented teaching assistant that has the drive to impact children positively.

We are looking for a teaching assistant to support the progress of children through targeted 1:1 support, individual and group interventions and other duties as directed by the class teacher. The candidate may already hold a relevant teaching assistant qualification, but the option to access a funded apprenticeship scheme is also open to consideration for exceptional candidates.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will need to work flexibly alongside class teachers and other staff to adapt and support learning. You will have experience of working independently and have the potential to deliver intervention programmes and develop an understanding of the importance of record keeping and evidencing progress through assessment. You will demonstrate the patience and passion to work with children displaying a variety of academic and emotional needs.

Many of our staff manage multiple roles and the option to provide additional hours to cover lunch supervision is something we are keen to implement. Candidates that can fulfil this option will be of great interest to us.

  • Have experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting.
