The first contact any family or professional has with our assessment service sets the tone for our entire working relationship. Our practice is based on consent, strong relationships with families and partners. Using motivational approaches, the assessment social worker engages with both the family and their support network to understand concerns and determine whether a statutory social work service is required. If not, a plan to support the family at a lower level of need will be implemented.

You will receive high-quality supervision, with dedicated time to focus on your work with children and families, enabling you to work creatively and holistically. Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation, which will lead to the creation of new unitary councils in April 2027. This role will transfer to one of these new councils with existing terms and conditions.
