TheFacilities team have an amazing opportunity for a Band 3 Facilities Supervisor,initially based at Chapel Allerton for up to 6 months to allow training andfamiliarisation but with the permanent role being at Wharfedale Hospital(Otley). This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to move intofacilities management, as the role involves managing Ward Housekeepers,porters, domestics, waste, linen and patient catering services, and so willenable the right candidate to move into a wide variety of future roles as partof their career progression. It is a true total facilities managementopportunity!

Therole requires working a 2 week rolling rota with 11 hour working days, givingan average 37.5hrs per week, it is a requirement of the role to work alternateweekends. You will have responsibility for the management of the facilitiesstaff across a variety of wards and departments in the completion of theirallocated duties cleaning, ward catering & portering. The role is alsorequired to provide supervisor cover at Chapel Allerton or Seacroft sites ifneeded and as such own transport would be advantageous or use of publictransport.

Eachof the peripheral sites provides some very unique clinical environmentscompared to the LGI & SJUH sites, although all are busy, but because of theway the sites are structured they have a very supportive feel to them, whichmakes this an excellent opportunity to learn new skills or develop existingskills.

TheFacilities Supervisor is the first line manager for a team of housekeeping(approx 50) & portering (approx 10) staff undertaking tasks associated withthe provision of catering, cleaning and portering duties to patients in wardsand other patient areas. Ensuring that staff are correctly deployed each day inaccordance with the agreed master roster to ensure all service obligations aremet and that all team members carry out their duties in accordance with laiddown procedures and policies. Complete regular monitoring to ensure that thefunctional areas are maintained to a high level standard of service andquality.

Therole will be responsible for allocation of annual leave; attendance managementreviews; staff health and wellbeing; monitoring cleaning & cateringstandards at ward/department level; ensuring porterage service is beingcompleted effectively; annual appraisals; ensuring on site catering serviceunit is being operated in line trust requirements; provision of training,guidance, support and instruction to on site staff; completion of wagesubmissions; completion of all department required paper & IT based assurancesystems which relate to the role/service requirements; reviewing &responding to patient concerns.
