Personal Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a young man with autism and learning disabilities to live life to the fullest. The role involves supporting social and community activities, exercise, and daily routines in a safe, respectful, and patient manner. The employer is based in Biggar and welcomes candidates who are kind, friendly, compassionate, patient, honest, jokey, and supportive.

• Provide support when in the community, including helping with reading, prompting for hydration, assisting with toilet needs, and using ear defenders when noise starts.
• Support engaging in activities such as visiting the gym, swimming, museums, and shopping at DIY stores, and be open to suggesting new activities.
• Assist with using exercise equipment at home, and participate in exercise sessions (e.g., exercise bike, Wondercore, Joe Wicks videos).
• Ensure safety at all times and help manage responses to sensory overwhelm (e.g., loud noises or sudden changes in environment).
• Assist with navigation and transport needs; driving the employer’s car when required, within the constraints of a clean driving licence.
• Support daily routines and personal care as appropriate, including prompting and guidance as needed.

• Experience with autism is essential.
• Driver with a clean licence is essential; you will be required to drive the employer's car.
• Comfortable working in the Biggar area.
• Willingness to work 14 hours per week at £12.60 per hour.
• Typical schedule: Monday 9:00am – 2:00pm; Wednesday 9:00am – 2:00pm; Thursday 9:00am – 1:00pm or 12:00pm – 4:00pm; days and hours negotiable.
• No smokers or vapers.
