Job description

Please note: Job role based at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Are you an experienced Typist? A great opportunity has arisen for a Typist to join our dynamic and highly functioning Support Team in Cellular Pathology. The post will be based in the Pathology Department at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Please note: Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at the hospital site. Remote interviews will not be available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Typing correspondence from service users in a timely way to ensure referral to treatment and cancer pathway targets are met.
  • Sorting the incoming and outgoing Cellular Pathology reports.
  • Working primarily with the team of Cellular Pathology Consultants and Cellular Pathology Laboratory Team, maintaining clear communication.

Qualifications and attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Typist experience, proficiency in copy and audio‑typing, and working experience with digital dictation.
  • Sound knowledge of medical vocabulary is advantageous.
  • Flexible approach to work, well organised, ability to prioritise, work well under pressure, and willingness to learn.
