Both House Managers act as key holders, opening and closing the house each day and managing all alarm and emergency systems. You will oversee household equipment and ensure everything operates safely and reliably.

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day logistics across the property
  • Maintain household systems such as waste and recycling, carry out minor maintenance (repairs, bulb changes, clock winding, picture hanging, fireplace care)
  • Support the upkeep of dining rooms, the pantry and the service kitchen areas
  • Occasional driving duties, shopping and dry‑cleaning collections
  • Assist with the care of the family dogs, prepare dining areas and provide warm front‑of‑house support to guests
  • Help with annual estate events
  • Share overall responsibility for the property with the Head House Manager and be on site at agreed times when the principals are away
  • Act as a key holder and manage alarm and emergency systems
