Job summary
A growing freight company in Portsmouth is seeking an Import Coordinator to ensure Customs compliance and manage the movement of goods. Candidates should have logistics experience, strong customer service skills, and good IT knowledge. The position requires flexibility due to shift work. The salary ranges from £25K to £27K depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Learn Customs compliance procedures to ensure goods clear HM Revenue & Customs.
- Provide excellent customer service while handling various types of cargo.
- Work as part of a departmental shift rota.
Skills
Do you have logistics, shipping or supply chain experience? Have you coordinated the movement of goods into or out of the UK? Do you want to focus your career on international trade & learn more about Customs procedures?

In this role you’ll learn Customs compliance procedures, ensuring goods clear HM Revenue & Customs and the correct duties are paid. All this, whilst providing excellent customer service. You will be dealing with all types of cargo and various sized importers & exporters, so you need a can-do attitude, and be a team player.
As long as you’ve had some exposure within logistics, training can be provided on various aspects of the role such as Customs compliance. Its more about you as a person!
- Previous logistics experience
- Good customer services skills
- Good IT knowledge

Due to the nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to work as part of the departmental shift rota so must be flexible in their working hours.
