Job description

Description

It's an exciting time in our Pricing and Analytics department here at AXA UK. Our transformation programme has recently been relaunched, aligned to AXA Retail's new Pricing and Analytics strategy. We're investing a lot in growing our department in size and capability across our IT systems, analytical toolset and learning and development. We'd love to hear from motivated people who can help us deliver our commitments to our business, our customers, and our people.

We're looking for a Home Underwriting and Fraud Analyst to support the control of the Retail Underwriting appetite, footprint, and fraud strategy, to provide more certainty and stability to our GWP and loss ratio targets for Home Insurance. Looking to build on our success in 2025, with desire to increase our market coverage in a controlled and safe way, but also to identify threats to our loss ratio and act quickly to mitigate so innovative thinking, market analysis and appetite for making a difference are key pillars for the role.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support delivery of the Retail Underwriting Appetite & Fraud Policy for Home, highlighting areas outside of our appetite and any emerging risks to our appetite.
  • Deliver reporting and analysis of the Home Insurance market on new entrants and exits and risks and opportunities to our Underwriting footprint.
  • Offer insight on any current and emerging risks, trends and opportunities from fraud, climate, cyber and new technology trends for Home Insurance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities on segments within our Home Underwriting & Fraud appetite, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure appropriate action is taken to protect the Retail Home targets for GWP/Volume and Loss Ratio.
  • Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we're able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you're interested in joining us at AXA, please don't hesitate to apply.
What you’ll bring:
  • Experience in Underwriting and knowledge of market including key players and performance drivers.
  • Experience of driving and delivering profitable change.
  • Strong analytical approach to problem structuring.
  • Strong drive to deliver and comfortable collaborating in a team.
  • Self-sufficiency in working through analytical projects from idea to results phases.
  • Effective communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working with PowerBI and/or Python.
  • Ability to continually learn and develop.
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
What we offer:

At AXA UK, we're appreciative of the people who work for us and our rewards package is reviewed regularly to reflect that. You can expect to receive:

  • Competitive annual salary dependent on experience
  • Annual company & performance-based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10 x annual salary)
  • Private medical cover
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy up to 5 extra days leave or sell up to 5 days leave
  • Wellbeing services & resources
  • AXA employee discounts
