Classification: Medical Specialist (Year 1-9 equivalent)
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join a well-established regional obstetrics and gynaecology service on a fractional specialist basis.
As a Senior Specialist within the Obstetrics & Gynaecology service, you will provide consultant-level care across obstetrics and gynaecology, contribute to clinical leadership, and support education and supervision of junior medical staff.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team and participate in governance, quality and safety activities aligned with Victorian public health standards.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based obstetric and gynaecological care
- Participate in senior medical staff rosters, including non-standard hours as required
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and safety initiatives
- Participate in regular audit, morbidity and mortality, and peer review meetings
- Provide supervision, mentoring and teaching to junior doctors and trainees
- Support service development, change initiatives and strategic objectives
- Participate in organisational and clinical committees as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent
- Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated consultant-level clinical expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality and safety frameworks
- Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Broad experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology with a subspecialty interest
- Experience in teaching, supervision and mentoring of trainees
- Interest in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives
- Specialist registration with AHPRA
